Some toads can be had on Conroe in cold weather, but nothing with regularity. You need to fish points with funnels heading to home spots. You'll find secrets ...more regarding Conroe are held close to the vest

The bite won't be great, if we get some sunny warmer days it should help bring them shallow. Never know in the Winter. My also try Gibbons Creek another power ...more plant lake. Gibbons is only open fri - Sun

Fayette lake is going to be the place to go for January. Water temperatures are around 30 degrees higher than other lakes in the general area.
    12. John Fitch
If you are coming to Houston in January you should try Fayette instead of Conroe. It's a small easy power plant lake and if your hands get too cold you can just ...more stick them in the water and warm them up.

With all the recent cold fronts it's been a bit tough, I was out last Thursday managed 4 keepers for about 10 1/2 lbs and 5 or 6 short fish. I didn't come ...more up with any real pattern some on docks some in open water.
