  9. I didn't know this but the Power Plant had been shut down and the employees laid off at Gibbons Creek. The water temp was 46 degrees, which threw a wrench into ...more everything. But I talked to the park employee and he said the past administrations pretty much closed them down caused a lot of people to loose their jobs but thanks to Trump cutting duplicate and overstepping regulations/restrictions they plan to put the plant back online in March.

    1. Brandon Booth 0
The plant is up for sale and Tmpa has a sale deadline of September. Last report in the local paper said Tmpa will permanently close the plant in September if no ...more offers are received.
    2. John Fitch 0
Well just to let everyone know it was still 2 degrees warmer at the discharge even with the plant not running if that makes any difference.
    3. Mark Oland 0
That sucks it's closed. Glad to here it's coming back in March. Last time I went water was 60 at the outlet. It wasn't that long ago.

  10. Hitting up Gibbons Creek this Sunday any advice on where to concentrate our efforts for bass?

    1. Mark Oland 0
The discharge was packed with boats when I was there but didn't see anyone catching
    2. John Fitch 0
Thanks Mark, we went like a month ago before it got real cold. And that's where caught them. Our plan for this week is to hit all the points around the hot water ...more discharge, thinking that the water temp may still be lower from this past week of freezing temps. What do y'all think? Or are they just all around the main lake during the coldest parts of winter.
    3. Mark Oland 0
John. Last time I was there 3 weeks ago, water was 60 and we caught 14 fishing the creek channels that were close to the bank. The banks still had grass. We were ...more using swimbait with a spinner blade below. Also drop shot around trees, caught our bigger fish this way. Good luck
