The State survey from 2012 indicated that Cane Creek Park had one of the healthiest bass populations in our region by their rating system. Not sure what's happened ...more since then. The only place I've seen fish caught was where you caught yours.

Caught it from shore close to the dock and boat ramp. I was the only person I saw all day catch anything.

Nice fish!! Did you catch it from shore or a boat? I fished there from my boat 4 times last year and didn't catch a thing. Seeing your fish makes me want to ...more return to Cane Creek!

Having trouble identifying this species. It looks a lot like a large bream, but it's got a mouth like a bass but what is most interesting is the peach colored ...more fins on the bottom. Caught two of these this morning in almost the same spot, right near the shore. They weren't big fighters. The wildlife officers identified it as a crapie, but i've never seen crappie with this green/gold color, nor with the telltale bream black spot, nor with the peach color fins on the bottom. I'm guessing this is the mutt bread of small lake fish. a little of everything.
