Having trouble identifying this species. It looks a lot like a large bream, but it's got a mouth like a bass but what is most interesting is the peach colored ...more fins on the bottom. Caught two of these this morning in almost the same spot, right near the shore. They weren't big fighters. The wildlife officers identified it as a crapie, but i've never seen crappie with this green/gold color, nor with the telltale bream black spot, nor with the peach color fins on the bottom. I'm guessing this is the mutt bread of small lake fish. a little of everything.

I was looking at the joke of a webpage at Ass Pro. I swear a 3 year old designed it.

Is it under KVD S? I was trying to find the really fat bait in the same color. ...more The 1.5 is supposed to go 5ft. Maybe if the lake was dry. Those clowns want a $50 order for free shipping. Academy is $25.
    5. Good one Gene👍Love that color crank the 4s series has little bigger profile and gets down little deeper.

  8. I can’t believe I was off the water for almost two months! Time really flies when you’re busy, but I just couldn’t say no to a night on the lake when I saw how beautiful ...more it was outside today. Pretty soon I’ll have to abandon the boat again and start gearing up for deer season! This was dad’s big catch today, but he doesn’t like being in front of the camera.

it does help! thank you very much!!! i went out there Saturday, no success, had a few bites on jerkbaits shallow but thats about it. i guess i was just so excited ...more that i finally got the boat out that i completely forgot to use any plastics or even fish deep lol. will def try your tips this weekend. thanks again!!!
    2. I'm so sorry I didn't respond to you sooner, it's been a crazy week. It's hard for me to give any advice right now since I've only been out three ...more or four times this summer but I'll share what has worked for me in recent years. I fish weedlines and channels, mainly in the White Oak Creek and Little White Oak Creek arms during the spring and summer (I focus on hunting in the fall), and I use soft plastics for the most part. Weightless texas-rigged senkos are my go-to and as far as colors go I usually stick with green pumpkin, watermelon red flake, or black blue flake. Stick-o worms from bass pro are a cheaper alternative and don't fall apart as quickly as Yamamoto senkos. Mann's 12 inch blackberry jelly worms, texas-rigged with a fairly heavy bullet weight work well in super thick grass beds since they have a high profile. Other baits we've had success with in the past are topwater poppers/frogs, a strike king square bill crankbait (2.5) in shad color, a strike king red eye shad in shad color, and a black/blue chatterbait. As far as spots go I've put all of my catches since the summer of 2016 on the Fishidy map and there are several spots that other anglers have posted so that would be a good place to start. I hope this helps, good luck!
