Alpine Lake offers average fishing for average stocked cutthroat trout. Access is easy, until you leave Trail #4. The rest of the trip is difficult. The shoreline is about 80% conifers.
The Fish and Game Department has twice tried stocking Lake McKnight with golden trout. Unfortunately the stockings did not take. As of now, the lake is fishless.
