Fox River Fishing Reports

Recently shared catches and fishing spots

  1. 5 lb. 1 oz. Largemouth Bass with a River2Sea Whopper Plopper

  2. Details: Smallmouth Bass

Excuse the mess. Caught many fish on the float, nothing special. First time out on the canoe solo with new batteries. 2-6v ran in series for a total of 12v&490 ...more Amp hrs. 120lbs pushed up front to simulate a body for proper tracking/balance. On turbo this thing rips for travel, holds well in current when posting up and can hold a charge for a week in the jungle.

The Ned rig was getting the job done yesterday. Started the evening off 3miles up Poplar creek working our way back to its end at the Fox, then worked the river ...more north. Fish were tight to bank/structure in slack water. Good #'s, this was the biggest for the night.

@Smalljaw a lot of time spent getting out of snags though throughout the years.
    2. elcapidano1 0
Negative@Smalljaw these areas are full of snags. I have fished them long enough to know where inches matter and or length of cast to weight of jig and current flow ...more will would result in a snag.

Bed rig in a flow? Ballsy. Guessing you found the rare river spot with clean bottom.

Got out with @BIGsmallie yesterday. We put 20+ fish in the boat dragging the floor and pitching to laydowns, we unfortunately lost about a dozen more.

Lets do it @BIGsmallie. It was nice to get good #'s in the areas I can't get from shore. Still kicking myself for the fatties I lost.

Killer fight this 3.2lb-18.5" Smallie put up. Windy, cold and rainy evening was making the fish hold tight to structure. Landed 3 with this being the biggest.

@elcapidano1 good to know. Regular wader here. Might have sold me on the Nasci
    7. elcapidano1 0
@Smalljaw. It's great, $100 can't beat that. Sealed drag and core protection. I bought it for wading as I dip the reel every now and then and there is nothing ...more worse than grease filled with aggregate.

Nice combo. How you like the Nasci? They seem smooth in the store
