  6. Details: Spotted Bass with a Chartreuse black strike king square bill

Spots are staging on long rock points right now. They are anywhere from 1-12 FOW. These two fish were small but we're fun because this is the first double I ...more have had on a crank bait. We also caught a bunch of fish jus dragging plastics across the bottom. It seems if you put it in front of them they are going to hit it.

I have never done it almost happened to me at the shore a bass followed the one the hook and the. Tried to hit but the other would shake and then he shook the hook
  7. Details: Spotted Bass with a Suspending jerkbait 3-6 foot

Just got down for spring break and could not take boat out because it was getting late and I went out to the dock and saw them schooling and casted into 3-12 FOW ...more and saw them schooling and ended up catching 10 in about 45 minutes. They liked the long pause in between 3 short strokes while working the jerkbait.

My kids caught these three spotted bass on Lake Martin.

  9. Details: White Crappie with a Crappie jig

Caught these three species (white crappie, striped bass, and spotted bass) at night around a Green Monster Fishing Light TM. All were caught on a crappie jig.

Here's a good site explaining the differences. It could be a white bass after all. But I don't think it's conclusive. http://www.dnr.sc.gov/fishregs/temperatebassid.html
    2. bama6 0
And are you still "100% certain" that's a black crappie?
    3. bama6 0
Ok, so I stand corrected about them not being in AL. (The wiki site I read mentioned nothing about southeastern states.) How can you tell from this picture that ...more this is a white bass and not a stripe?
    4. Nate Hensley 0
I did some very simple research, and found that white bass are "abundant in Alabama." http://www.outdooralabama.com/white-bass
    5. bama6 0
I guess the next thing you're going to tell me is that the spotted bass in the picture is really a large mouth??
    6. bama6 0
And the striped bass is so similar to the white bass, why would you even bother to argue the point? Just do some research and you will find that white bass aren't ...more even found in Alabama.
    7. bama6 0
While the picture at this link does look like the one I caught... http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_crappie
    8. bama6 0
The picture in that link doesn't look anything like the crappie I caught.
    9. bama6 0
      100%? http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_crappie
    10. Nate Hensley 0
I'm 100% sure that's a black crappie, and nearly as sure that's a white bass. If they weren't in your lake, they are now.
    11. bama6 0
I appreciate the attempts to correct my species identification, but the white bass is not found in Lake Martin. Striped bass is stocked annually. And black crappie ...more are considerably darker than this.
    12. Sutton Dole 0
Black crappie, white bass, spotted bass nice stringer
    13. Nate Hensley 0
And probably a white bass in the middle.
    14. Nate Hensley 0

Finished 6 Oz out of the money. Was a tough day. We had 7 bites all day. Caught three on a shakey head and two on a crank bait. Had one fish at 1 o'clock and ...more found a pattern late.
