:Portage Lake is a part of the Keweenaw Waterway in Houghton County, Michigan. It is connected to Lake Superior on two sides via the Portage Canal. Because of it's connectivity to The Big Lake, one never quite knows what species of fish will bite next.

  1. Details: 27 in. Northern Pike with a Spoons

    1. Caught 4 pike. 2 were keepers at over 24 inches. Caught one baby catfish too. Great time. Rented boat from Northwoods. Tom was a nice guy with great fishing advice.
  2. Found a pair of nice crappies yesterday. Only caught two but they were good ones!

  7. From what I've heard most people are doing poorly on the Portage, but I've been having some pretty good luck

  10. Went out after class to a new area on the Portage. The only walleye caught after a couple hours of fishing.
