Weather patterns and water clarity are key factors for anglers on this massive impoundment. Stripers, spotted bass and Crappie top the list of this incredibly diverse fishery. Largemouth, catfish and Walleye are also present.
Skeeter tournament this past weekend 27th and 28th. Lanier wasn’t great for us but we caught fish. Day 1 we were 4lbs from 1st and were 41st. Day two we ended 3lbs ...more out of money. The weather washed the areas out we found. We just wasn’t able to recover. We had 13.89 day 1 and 11.46 day 2. We still had fun as always.
Caught 3 stripers before day night around dock lights, then this one around 12lb just at daybreak. My biggest strip so far on artificial. My bite is heating up!
