  3. Details: Red (redfish) Drum with a Greenback ripple shad/trokar 4 swim bait hook/ 20lb fluoro leader

Finally back on the water! Haven't been on months and man it feels good. Big schools of reds that weren't afraid of anything were everywhere.Awesome day ...more to be out and see them plowing up the marsh. Glad I was able to get me and my uncle on some fish. A couple hours after low tide the fish moved into the bayou and were impossible to miss. They hit anything and everything we threw at them.Great day!

  4. Details: Fat Snook with a Z-man 4" paddle tail/pinfish;1/16oz 3/0 VMC weedless swimbait hook. 7' St Croix legend/shimano sahara w/10lb power pro, 25lb flouro leader.

Flats action is on with a vengeance, bait is on the flats, everything is feeding. However, basic fishing "rules" still apply, moving water=feeding fish. ...more This guy was the result of relentless pounding of holes during a slack tide until I found one willing to take. Very satisfying, probably had 30 ignore it til he hit. Super fast retrieve prompted a reaction strike, don't stop casting!

  5. Back to fishing a lil fresh With a MONSTER #notreally

  6. Details: Fat Snook with a Berkley ripple shad,4" smelt;3/16oz 5/0 VMC weedless swimbait hook. 7'6" St Croix avid w/Shimano sahara, 15lb power pro, 30lb leader.

Hit some backwater spots unsure about the activity but hopeful because of the sunny days we've had all week. I pulled into a brackish bay 1-3ft deep and immediately ...more noticed finger mullet scattering followed by snook explosions. The ripple shad is a perfect finger mullet imitation. I had good late afternoon action 20-34in. Temp was 70, 15mph wind. Good day.

@withers good access to the south shore from port manatee to the skyway, beautiful water/grass flats & potholes.
    3. Matthew_L 0
@withers I don't get up there much, try the Williams Bayou launch, just over the skyway towards Palmetto; 1 mile south of the toll booth take a left at "The ...more citrus place", first left at Stotz rd.

Thank you so much, those sound like some cool new areas I usually fish off of fort Desoto and the gandy bridge
    6. Matthew_L 0
@withers The skyway rest areas on both sides are good, down here in palmetto the Terra ceia area along US19 is good. Bishop harbor and Terra ceia is where I put ...more in most of the time.
