  1. 7 lb. 3 oz. 23.0 in. Largemouth Bass with a Bagley Deep Diving Shad

    1. Capt pete Rosko 0
Some of my biggest bass on Talquin have been caught vertical jigging deeper holes next to land points with heavy vegetation. I'm talking about metal jigs in ...more the 1/10 and 1/6 oz sizes. The Sonic BaitFish is hard to beat. I also have slow-trolled 1/4 and 1/3 oz Kandlefish (another metal jig produced by Wahoo Fishing Products in Punta Gorda, FL) and was shocked by the hybrid stripers it caught on the lake.

    2. James Reynolds 0
Stumps close to the dam but not as many as when you go up the lake. The farther you go the worse they get. I tore 2 motors off the boat like you cut them off with ...more a chain saw. Also poked holes in two boats. Both in little river close to Williams landing. Use caution there are no real channels.
    3. Cam Hemler 0
thanks yeah there sure is alot of stumps on the lake. the one that will surprise you are close to the dam.
    4. James Reynolds 0

Bob, Oklawaha creek is very good place to catch them. The water is cooler and more clear. Be care full of the stumps in the mouth of it.

  8. Details: Goat Island

    1. James Reynolds 0
I have fished around it for many years. I had a lake house just around the next point called lake view point. I fished Lake Talquin most all of my life and have ...more had my motor find several of the stumps in it. It is stumpy so you have to be careful. Goat island is a great place to fish. Fish hold good around it and in the spring and fall is a good time to work the Lilly pads in the back side of it. The bass on my profile came not to far from Goat Island.
