Shared catches, fishing spots and reports

  1. This summer has been my first year back in the water as an angler. I haven't been fishing since I was about 20 and living in NY. My second husband Joseph Culpepper ...more is an avid fisherman and he was happy to take me to the water's edge to a beautiful lake I knew about here in Russellville/Franklin County AL. This beauty was my second 'big' cat caught on his 'lucky' rod! She was a fighter and a delicious meal

  9. Red Snapper with a sardines

    1. the snapper were caught in the gulf many miles offshore. the app defaulted to lake Shelby even though I moved the pointer out into the gulf.
    2. Hey man! Can you confirm these snappers were caught in Lake Shelby? Here’s why I ask...I had a huge one on earlier this evening - I was fishing from in the water ...more but it damaged my hook so badly it got off just as I had it in my grasp. I am almost certain it was a Red Snapper but with Lake Shelby being home to many freshwater and only a few saltwater fish, I’m now beginning to doubt my original thoughts! I’m almost certain it was a snapper, and not a redfish. Anyway if you caught these in the actual Lake, I’d love to know!! Thanks so much! ~ lauren
