How do I create a Fishidy account?

  1. Creating a free account on Fishidy is very simple. Sign up here and fill out your name, email, zip code, and choose a password.
  2. Once you've agreed to the terms and conditions click on the button to sign up. You will then use this same email address to login to your free Fishidy account at any time.
  3. If you're interested in upgrading, visit our Premium page.

How do I change my profile settings?

  1. First, log in.
  2. Click the menu icon near the top left of the screen.
  3. Click on the "Manage" button located next to your profile photo
  4. Fill in the fields about yourself and click "Save & Update" at the bottom.

On the right side you can set your preferences such as privacy and notifications, update your email address, or change your password. You can also upgrade to Premium and see when it expires if you've already upgraded.

How do I change my profile photo?

  1. Click the menu icon near the top left of the screen.
  2. Click on the "Manage" button located next to your profile photo
  3. Update your profile picture and then click "Save & Update" at the bottom.

How do I change my password?

  1. On the right hand side of your account settings page, select "Change Your Password".
  2. Type in your current password, and type in a new one that is easy to remember, and type it once more to verify it's correctly typed.
  3. Click on "Update". The next time you login to Fishidy your new password will be activated.

How do I change my email address to a different one?

  1. On the right hand side of your account settings page, select "change your email address".
  2. Enter your current email address followed by your new email address then click "update".

How do I delete my account?

Follow the instructions below to delete your account from Fishidy. Once an account is deleted all data for your account will be erased. This cannot be undone.

Due to security concerns, we will not process email requests to delete your account.

  1. Log in to your Fishidy account on
  2. Access your account settings page by visiting
  3. You will find an option to delete your account

How do I stop receiving emails from Fishidy?

  1. Log in to your Fishidy account.
  2. Go to your Settings Management page and select the Email Notification Preferences tab.
  3. Unselect the emails you wish to no longer receive from us.
  4. Click on Update & Save.

How do I find a waterway?

  1. Simply type in the name of the waterway, a zip code or city and state in the search tool located near the top of the screen.

How do I view fishing hot spots and marked structure on my maps?

  1. Fishing Hot spots and mapped underwater structure are available to Premium Subscribers only.
  2. Please note that the more you zoom in, the more information will appear.
  3. If you are still not seeing fishing hot spots and underwater structure marked on your map we may not have the information for that waterway yet, but we are continually adding new information each month.

How do I go directly to a catch I've previously recorded?

  1. Click on the "My Fishidy" tab located at the top of the screen
  2. Click on Catches.
  3. Select a catch from your list, and then click on “View on Map” to be directed to the exact location of that catch on the map.

How do I zoom in or out on my map?

  1. Once you're looking at the map of the waterway you're interested in, you'll see a (+) and (-) on the top right side of the map.
  2. You can also double click your mouse to zoom in on a map. Make sure to zoom in far enough to see the waterway contours and data.

What does "Aerial", "Aerial with Labels", "Gray" and "Standard" mean on my map?

Aerial and Aerial with Labels shows the map in satellite view so you can see actual terrain surrounding the waterways – including labels which show surrounding roads, cities and other information. The Standard view is simply roads without the satellite view. Click on the map view you prefer.

How often do you add new maps and Do you accept suggestions?

We add new, detailed maps several times per year. We absolutely take member suggestions. Just contact us with any information about the waterway including the name and location and we will pass the request onto our data research team.

Do you only have U.S. waterways mapped?

Yes, right now we only have U.S. waterways mapped, but we are continuously looking to add sources of data to expand our coverage of waterways into new regions as well.. Fishidy isa great tool regardless of whether we have detailed mapping available in your area or not. You can still mark personal fishing spots and catches on any waterway in the world for your own personal records.

Why is common information missing on this waterway?

We appreciate member feedback, because you are the ones who make Fishidy such a great website. If you have information on a specific waterway, species, or fishing tip that should be included please contact us and we will pass it onto our data research team.

Why don't you have many waterways in my area?

We are always trying to add more waterway information. Some regions have more limited mapping information than others. Adding a new waterway can be a complex process and requires a physical survey to get it into Fishidy's map database. If there is a waterway you would like to add, contact us and we will pass it on to our data research team to see if they can acquire the information. In the meantime, you can still mark your own fishing spots on any waterways and keep a private fishing record that can be accessed at any time.

How do I upgrade to a Premium?

When premium data is available you will see a "Premium Waterway" indicator located on the page. You can click on that or you can visit our Premium page for more details.

Where do I find premium Fishing Hot Spots® data?

Fishing Hot Spots® data is only available to Premium Subscribers, and you'll be able to view these points right on your map! Click on the Fishing Hot Spots® logos, and a new window will pop-up displaying specific species and location-specific fishing tips for that section of the waterway.

Why wasn't my order accepted after I purchased a Premium Subscription?

Make sure that the email address entered in the shopping cart matches the email address you use to log in to your account on Fishidy. You will know if your Premium Subscription is activated if you look under your account settings. On the upper right hand side it will show your subscription and the expiration date of your subscription. If your order didn't go through, your card may show a temporary charge that will be released back into your account. At this time our system does not allow us to accept gift cards. If you continue to have issues please contact us and we will get you set up right away.

How do I cancel my Premium Subscription or update my billing details?

Follow the instructions listed below depending on where you purchased your Fishidy premium subscription from.

  1. Visit your account settings page. You will be required to log in to verify your identity.
  2. Your subscription status is listed at the top of the screen. Click on the Cancel button to make changes to your subscription.

Where can I find the Fishidy mobile app?

The Fishidy mobile app is available for download on iPhone and Android mobile devices. Links to download the mobile app and more details can be found on our mobile app page.

Why isn't my Premium Subscription working on the mobile app?

We recommend that you use the same email address for signing into the web version of Fishidy as you do for the mobile app version. Your email address is what everything is tied to within your Fishidy account. When activating a Premium Subscription you may need to log out of the mobile app and log back in.

  1. Open the Fishidy app on your mobile device, click on the settings screen (farthest button/option in the right menu)
  2. Click log out
  3. Log back in using your Fishidy credentials

What are the differences between the Fishidy mobile app and the Fishidy website?

The mobile app (which is downloaded from the app store) and the website (accessed from a web browser) are slightly different. The primary goal of the mobile app is to view waterway information and maps and log your catches. The website is much more robust and contains the full feature set including mapping, full fishing log info, groups, resources, etc. You can access the mobile version of the Fishidy website with your mobile browser, though full interactive mapping is not yet available. We recommend members use the app when on a mobile device and the website when using a computer.

How do I make my fishing spots and catches on Fishidy private?

Fishidy gives its members the option to share information, or keep the information privately for their own records. There are two ways to set your privacy.

The first option allows you to keep information private by default including all of your logged posts, spots, catches, and waterways.

  1. You can set this by going to your account settings.
  2. Choose "Default Privacy" on the right hand screen
  3. You have the option of sharing information you post with everyone, only your "buddies", don't share with anyone, or friends of friends.

The second way is through the map screen when you are marking a spot or catch. This allows you to mark the privacy on each spot separately so some may be kept secret while others can be shared with other Fishidy members.

  1. When you are going to "Add a Catch" or "Mark a Spot" you will see a padlock icon at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Click on it to keep it private, share it with only your "buddies", or share it with everyone.

How do I know my information is secure?

Your information is secure and always protected. For more information on this, please refer to Fishidy's privacy policy.

How do I connect with fishing buddies?

  1. Use the search tool near the top of the screen to locate a friend
  2. Click on the "Follow" button to send a connection request to the user. Please note, you will not be connected with the user until they accept your request.
