Felt good to finally stick a big one again! Cracked 20" for the first time this year. She ate the tube once and I swung on her and missed. I let it fall back to the bottom and waited a couple of seconds before picking up the slack and she bit it again. This time I didn't miss 😁 I've found that killing the bait after missing a hookset can often get you a second chance at the fish, as long as you didn't drive the hook into it's mouth. This time it paid off with my biggest smallie of the year.
