Went on the Scatcat with Outdoor Texas Camps looking for kings. Ended up catching a possible state record smack that I gave away (not knowing the current record which is only 8.74#s). Oh well, I'll try to break it again 😉 Overall the camp week was awesome, we caught over 41 species of fish throughout the 5 days. Weather and water cooperated 95% of the time.       You're probably right. Deckhands told me it was a smack and I honestly thought it was a king but didn't question it @SALTwaterKING

      It's actually a king. You can tell by the lateral line. Kings have more of a dip in the lateral line than spanish. Still a nice catch. Those juvenile kings can ...more fool you with those spots.
