About Snook

Distinct lateral line. The dorsal fins are high and divided and the anal spines are relatively short. Snook have a sloping forehead with a large mouth and protruding lower jaw. Grows much larger than other snooks, and is the only one in which the pelvic fins do not reach the anus when folded back. Coloration is golden yellow with pale yellow pelvic fins. Adult size: 18 to 30 inches.
