At Twin Lakes Reservoir fishing conditions are fair. Between dusk and dawn, mackinaw are cruising the shorelines seeking forage near the channel linking the upper ...more and lower lakes. During the day, the lake trout migrate to depths of 60 to 90 feet. Midday boat anglers targeting mackinaw may want to explore fishing deep water with a jig coupled with sucker meat or to troll the bottom of the lake with a downrigger. Successful boat anglers caught several rainbow trout by trolling either a bronze Colorado lure or a red and white spinner at the lower lake. The upper lake was less productive when compared to the trout catch of the lower lake. Near the power plant, shore anglers caught several rainbow trout on a mosquito (a type of dry fly). At Whistler Point fishing access, shore anglers caught a handful of rainbow trout on rainbow power bait and gold colored spinners. Midday water surface temperatures were in the mid 60s.
