    3. Rich, Come on down, the bass are fat & happy in April, just at the end of the spawn. Water is warming up and they are usually biting. Contact me and we can set ...more something up. I'll show you what this shiner fishing is all about.
    4. Rich Pardy
I actually might have a chance to get down there in early April.
    5. Me too Rich, but some days we get really lucky and call it skills. Lol. But Morris is right, you need to get down and fish in some water and not thru the ice, and ...more thaw out. We did get down to 28 this morning, but it will be 75 tomorrow. Gotta love Florida.
    6. Morris Campbell
Rich, get down here, thaw out and get one!!!
    7. Rich Pardy
I dream of days when I could catch 2 big bass like that in one day.

    12. You're correct there. My son's fish was over 27 and stayed in the high 8's. When I saw the head / mouth, I just knew he had a 12+ and I even got excited. ...more Scales don't lie. I even tried 2 different scales. Same results. Just super skinny. Hope that changes , next month. Nice reds ur catching !
    13. Morris Campbell

    2. Add a larger split shot above it about 6 in. And troll at 1/2-3/4 mph. Big lake, straight out from the pass, about 200-300 yrds.
    3. Kevin Wesley
Thanks Kenny. 23ft in the big lake? Only found 20-21 in little lake. How do you keep the beetle spins spinning and keep them deep
    4. Kevin Put a 1/8 oz white / black bettle spin w/ a minnow on , a foot off the bottom to get the 2+ pounders. Deep water. 23 ft +.
    5. Gabe Garcia
      where did you catch em?
    6. Jon Acree
      That's Santa Fe for ya.

    1. Rich Pardy
Thanks guys, awesome day, man Im jealous, we are getting below zero temps and snow :(
    2. Rich, Morris is correct. Scared bass candy. Yes, that's why I use wild. Fear triggers just like a baby bluegill. By the way, I was the candy man today, I caught ...more 23 bass from 1 lb to 6 lbs 7 oz. wild shiners catch big bass.
    3. Morris Campbell
Wild shiners are big bass candy
    4. Morris Campbell
      Huge difference Rich.
    5. Rich Pardy
Do you guys use wild shiners caught cause I have heard guys swear by using them because they act more natural (fear) when fish approach them and trigger a strike. ...more When I use the bait shop ones for ice fishing they just dont seem to catch fish but if I put a bluegill on from that lake they will bomb it.
    6. Morris Campbell
He fights like a 15 lb largemouth!!!
    7. Yeah Rich, wish I had the skill to catch that many big fish , on artificial. Maybe someday I'll be that good . Lol
    8. Rich Pardy
Man you guys are slaying them with the shiners!!
    9. Shawn Gearinger
      Great catch!

    1. Kevin Wesley
I bet! They look like they would be a blast on light tackle at that size. Thanks again for tips!
    2. Yes Kevin, This one came in 12 ft, but I usually catch them speck fishing in 20+ ft on water. They are schoolers and on crappie rigs, they are all u want. Usually ...more hit several poles at once. Lots of fun
    3. Kevin Wesley
Do you get those deep too Kenny?
    4. Yeah Jon. They will. My son caught a 8-0, in the same area, two days before. I did good on specks ( slabs ) last Wednesday. That lake is starting to go off.
